Telecommuting works for
people who are in an established job, which has the
potential to be moved to a telecommuting position.
Only certain jobs are convertable to a
telecommuting postion. Your job must meet some
specific criteria, including that the work be
transportable or electronically transmittable, the
work load must be trackable, you must have a
history of reliability with the company, and you
must be able to do the work in the time availableto you if you move your office home.
Many people cannot do more than half time work at home, so take
that into consideration. This is not work you go
looking for, but rather an option that exists for a
few established individuals to convert an existing
job into a work at home opportunity.
We only know one person who
does this - she does medical transcription, and was
only eligible to do it at home after she worked for
two years for the company on site.
Please see our review of Alpine Access for more information on Telecommuting jobs - there are now more available than previously.
