Writing is one of the
traditional at home jobs. We have a friend who
makes a very nice living doing hunting articles for
some major magazines. He is a firearms expert, sohe has a basis of expertise to work from.
Writing the Great American Novel has never been the fastest
means of getting rich, but if you are good enough
to write, then sell, a novel or other book, you canmake decent money at it.
There are other options too, writing for publications, writing copy for
websites, writing ad copy, greeting card
sentiments, and other less prestigious writing
tasks. You must have good spelling, and a gift for
effective phrasing (not the same as good grammar,though that can help too!).
If you understand technical issues of writing, you may be able to get
work proofreading or doing other editing tasks,
though we caution you against paying money to buy
into memberships to get you that kind of
work.
Writing is also a great companion service for web design, or infosite ownership. If you do not have web design skills, then you can hire a design firm to set up a flexible template for you either in a standard HTML site, or in a CMS (where you can just create new pages in a form online), and you can then use that to create whatever sites you want, with just a little customization.
