Overview:
Literature promises you can receive $2 per envelope
for stuffing envelopes. Sometimes this is sold as a
book of companies you can work for. There are
several variations on this long time
scheme.
Product: The
product is advertised in the flyers you put in the
envelope. Often the product is nothing more than
the advertisement for others to buy the program or
book.
Costs:
Usually $19 to $49. One time cost for the book,
ongoing costs to the company you sign up with for
flyers or other items.
Compensation:
You get paid if someone buys what you are
advertising. Some programs have ongoing costs for
product, others for flyers, others not at all. You
also pay for envelopes and stamps long term, and
possibly for copies, depending on the
program.
Conclusion:
The catch to this is that you are not just stuffing
envelopes. You are doing mass mailing for the
company you have bought the package from. You have
to locate the addresses you mail packets to, and
you only get paid if someone buys. Average return
rates on unsolicited mailings are 1 purchase for
100 mailings (on high quality stuff... let's pretend for the sake of argument that you get that good a return). You get an average of $2 per
mailing...lets see, at minimum you have to buy one
envelope and one stamp for each mailing. At $.37
per stamp, and oh, say, $.02 per envelope (bought
in bulk), you are spending $.39 per mailing.
Multiply that by 100, and you will be spending
$39.00 for each $2 you make. Hmmm, Can you say, RIP
OFF?
This one we can
say, unequivocally, DO NOT DO! You cannot make
money at it, and it will cost you.
There are email
schemes like this, which have lower ongoing costs.
But the issues are the same. You have to locate the
email addresses, and only get paid if someone buys.
At best, you waste a lot of time and get accused of
spamming, at worst, you can be legally prosecuted
for emailing SPAM.

Our Rating System:
No program is right for everyone.
Even a rating of four or five does not indicate that you should
dive in without some careful thought and consideration. Business
is still risky. All reviews have the reasons for the rating
clearly defined.
    -
Information presented in program is accurate and factual concerning
the potential of the program, program is based on sound business
principles, and has good potential to provide stable income
for individuals to whom the program is suitable.
   -
Information is accurately presented, company focuses on selling
product, but business is either more confusing, less predictable,
or slightly higher risk for one of a number of reasons. Still
considered a sound company and very acceptable risk.
  -
Information may be confusing or misleading, company may have
significant issues with program structure, support of product,
or public perception and reputation. A rating of three does
not mean you should not do it. It just means you need to be
sure you are suited to overcoming the difficulties that the
program has.
 -
Information generally misleading, risk fairly high, many unanswered
questions, business principles questionable, but still has some
potential for actually working for some people.
-
Cannot declare that it is an outright scam, but potential for
it to work is very low. Will have questionable business theory,
bad reputation, excessive hype that is not backed up by common
sense, or other aspects which indicate very high risk. Will
always have multiple issues, not just one thing.
-
Outright Scam. Anything labeled this way is never worth any
kind of risk.
