Overview: A
book or a membership in a program that supposedly
teaches you how to get rich quick from operating a
900 number call center.
Product:
Their product is the book. Yours is the service on
the end of the line.
Cost:
Usually $19.95 to $59.95 and up.
Compensation:
Profit from 900 number billing, if there is
any.
Conclusion:
This is another of those things that a little
common sense will blow away. Here are the
facts:
1. 900 numbers have
a VERY negative image. So much so that many
people simply will not call one for any reason.
Many homes have the numbers blocked.
2. People distrust
the billing on 900 numbers.
3. Even if you have
a legitimate info service, people will not call if
it is a 900 number. Major corporations do not even
use them for billed calls, they use a separate
credit card billing system instead.
4. Costs for
renting a line are high. And in order to make money
you would need multiple lines.
5. You would need a
location with multiple phone lines.
6. You would need a
staff to man the lines.
7. You would need a
VERY expensive advertising campaign or nobody
would call. Even with an expensive campaign, calls
would not exactly flood in.
Use a little logic
here. Unless you are selling something shady,
people aren't going to call. Even then, it is not a
simple way to make a fortune. It takes a
LOT of resources, and a lot of work to set
up.
Anyone selling you
anything on using this as a means of earning money
is scamming you. They aren't running a 900 number
business - they are selling books!
