Level of Review:
Researched. This is not something I want to do,
because I prefer writing and web
building.
Overview:
Book on setting up a Yahoo Store.
Product: His
product is the book. Yours is whatever you choose
to sell in your store.
Costs:
$49.95 for the book, $39 per month for the store.
May be additional costs also.
Compensation:
Profit from sales, minus cost for store and
advertising.
Conclusion:
This is similar to eBay selling books. Most promise
big bucks while misleading you about the truth of
marketing on wherever they are suggesting you
market. What he is talking about is setting up a
drop ship store through Yahoo Stores. He states
that Yahoo is a trusted name and you can get
customers who trust you more for that reason, an
that simply is not true. It is, again, like eBay,
and the individual store owners are more or less
reliable, no matter what the provider's terms are.
I mention that because he says this more than
once. While it is true that you will get a listing
with Yahoo that will help market your store, that
is the only advantage to choosing that venue. He
also uses quite a bit of hype, and I cannot get a
reply from his email address. That is the
negative.
The positive is
that he makes no promises of instant wealth, gives
a full money back guarantee, and has a list of
things that make you a poor candidate for success
with this. If setting up a drop ship store is
something you'd like to do, I think this book is a
reasonable choice for instructions on how to do it.
I am not sure Yahoo is the best venue for it
(though Yahoo does try to make it simple), but all
of the general marketing instructions can be
applied to any online store. Supply info can also
be used that way.
I subscribed to his
free newsletter, and have been impressed with the
solid content of the suggestions. He actually seems
to know what he is talking about, and has an
understandable conversational teaching style that
is well organized and easy to follow. His
newsletter is an advertising tool, and as such does
promote his product, but it also gives some very
solid information, and is far superior in content
to similar newsletters. This is the best indication
to me that the book is worth the money.
I feel this
has enough merit to link to, as long as you
understand that this is a store, dependent on
having a good product, good marketing, and
dependability in shipping products that are
ordered. And you won't get anywhere without
work.

Our Rating System:
No program is right for everyone.
Even a rating of four or five does not indicate that you should
dive in without some careful thought and consideration. Business
is still risky. All reviews have the reasons for the rating
clearly defined.
    -
Information presented in program is accurate and factual concerning
the potential of the program, program is based on sound business
principles, and has good potential to provide stable income
for individuals to whom the program is suitable.
   -
Information is accurately presented, company focuses on selling
product, but business is either more confusing, less predictable,
or slightly higher risk for one of a number of reasons. Still
considered a sound company and very acceptable risk.
  -
Information may be confusing or misleading, company may have
significant issues with program structure, support of product,
or public perception and reputation. A rating of three does
not mean you should not do it. It just means you need to be
sure you are suited to overcoming the difficulties that the
program has.
 -
Information generally misleading, risk fairly high, many unanswered
questions, business principles questionable, but still has some
potential for actually working for some people.
-
Cannot declare that it is an outright scam, but potential for
it to work is very low. Will have questionable business theory,
bad reputation, excessive hype that is not backed up by common
sense, or other aspects which indicate very high risk. Will
always have multiple issues, not just one thing.
-
Outright Scam. Anything labeled this way is never worth any
kind of risk.
